This month has seen a change at Rooted Ocean, with founder Lee Newby stepping back from the business and handing full control over to Matt Stephenson.
Lee's legacy will live on at Rooted Ocean and we will be forever grateful for his original vision and desire to make beautiful products in a sustainable way.
Here's a message from Lee that he published recently on Instagram:
Hey folks. Lee here: Just wanted to give you guys a mini update. It was pretty much 12 years ago to the day that I founded Rooted Ocean. A seedling idea, a new way of creating and a vision for great things..
It’s been helluva journey so far and I’m so grateful for all the support and engagement from you all from day one. It’s been, and continues to be, incredible!
That said, I’ve decided it’s the right time for me personally to move on to new adventures and let the next stage of RO unfold. I’m super stoked to handover full control to Matty and watch from the other side of the counter what comes next.
When Matt joined me at Efford Farm back in 2017 with ideas of saving wetsuits from landfill it was an immediate and obvious fit to get involved. Since then we’ve grown a brand that is firmly rooted in sustainability, Cornish manufacture and outdoor culture.
Good times man, and long may The Search continue…….
