It’s been perfectly designed so that there is just enough padding to keep the blanket a decent pack size, but still provide amazing comfort for those pebbly beaches. The treated cotton layer is milled, dyed and then quilted in the Scottish Highlands, keeping as much sourcing of materials, as UK based as possible! When flipped over, our super high denier nylon mix outer will provide a waterproof solution to keep every one dry when sat on dewy grass or damp ground. We have purposely made the outside of our waterproof picnic blanket extremely durable so it can be used for the dog on the back seats, once the day is done.

I’ve just purchased one of these blankets and I’m super impressed! We needed a heavy duty blanket for the garden and beach days and we found this as part of their ‘lifetime gear’ range. You can feel the quality as soon as you open the package and it’s got the thumbs up from the dog too! I will be back to purchase the smaller version before our trip to Australia next year!

I brought this for my husbands birthday but to be honest the kids and I have used it constantly since. It’s been on the beach in all weathers and has proved to be waterproof, whether sitting on it or sheltering under it! It’s extremely robust and very well made. Although we’ve only owned it a few months it certainly feels like it will last a lifetime. We’ve had many a picnic on it and with having two young kids and with various spills, have been able to keep it clean with just wipes. Thanks guys, what an awesome product!

This is such a great bit of kit. Looks smart, super comfortable to sit on. We have used this everyday throughout the summer. Was meant for taking to the beach and has been prefect for this but we also use it in the garden as a comfy play mat for our kids and love the fact that it looks so smart. Really durable, the waterproofing is so good. Highly recommend this for any family and may even get a second one!

Absolutely love this blanket! We use it almost daily. It’s super comfy to sit on and is so durable, the water proof finish is great for a quick wipe down. We use it in the garden, as picnic mat down at lake on the peddle beaches and most recent on our camping trip to the Outer Hebrides. It was fantastic as an extra layer on the floor in the living area of our tent for extra warmth and then pulled outside in the day to relax on. A fantastic piece of kit, would love to get the smaller one now to have in my rucksack for day hikes.

We love our Traveller Blanket! It’s always in the van and is constantly used. The water-resistant coating on the top is amazingly baby proof. Everything our one-year-old has thrown at it has just wiped off! It’s an awesome investment and I know it will last for years!

Fantastic blanket, only taken it out for one weekend so far but the quality is top notch! As some others suggested we used it outside in the day and at night it lived under the sleeping bag for extra warmth and insulation. Waterproof properties are excellent, the missus was a bit unsure about the top material until we split some pineapple juice and watched it bead up and roll away. Will be recommending this blanket to all my outdoors mates, there really is nothing like it on the market at this price/ size/ quality and the overall design – most of the stuff you find is either too busy looking or plastic feeling. Wish Rooted Ocean all the best going forward, I’ll be keeping an eye out for future releases!

Never done this before, but felt the need to come back and re-review our Traveller. We bought it in June 2020, and it’s now late 2023. It’s literally taken all the abuse a family of four can throw at it, but apart from a tiny bit of corrosion on the rivet/loops underneath it’s still in amazing condition! It goes everywhere with us, it’s spent hundreds of hours in the sun, been left outside overnight so many times and suffered the odd rain shower. It’s had all sorts of food and drink spilt on it but it’s got years if not decades of life left in it. 100% a case of buy well buy once!
